Maxis/Hotlink sucks
Back in March when we were in Singapore, I tried sms-ing a friend there and ended up being charged 8 times for ONE SINGLE sms. Thank god I was still using Hotlink, I could check my balance immediately and realised it did charge me 8 times for that ONE SINGLE sms.
Crazy shit..I stopped sms-ing altogether from then onwards of course. That time I didnt know whether it was due to the Singapore service provider of the number I sent to or Maxis/Hotlink.
Darren flew to Mumbai last Sunday. Not being able to activate global roaming on such short notice for postpaid users, he had no choice but to get a new Hotlink number.
Yesterday night he sent me an SMS which ended up 11 freaking times on my phone! Could be more but he shut his phone immediately when I told him about it. Needless to say he was charged 11 times for again, sending only ONE SINGLE sms.
11 times for ONE SINGLE sms…That’s RM22 for 1 sms!!
I got so pissed I decided to call Hotlink to complain today.
But as usual they just couldnt care less. No refund, no nothing. Only an advise asking you to try switching to another India service provider.
And this is what you call customer care?
I just felt that there should be more that they could do. Afterall, we’re the customers using THEIR service even from abroad. What I got was definitely not the kind of help I’d had expected.
Couldnt they at least take notice of this problem and try to find out what went wrong?
I guess not.
I wonder if Digi/Celcom customers have this problem?
Perhaps its time for a change.

*quack*
p/s: For postpaid customers, I was told that you need to bring your passport + RM300 deposit to the service center to activate global roaming. Worst still is if you are not the primary account holder…there’s no way you can do the activation. Only the primary is allowed to do it. So my advise is, just go on holiday without your phone. Else, get a local prepaid line.

I had a horrible experience with hotlink today, i realised that I was being charged RM 1.20 to non hotlink connections, and this was happening since last year april and i did not know!!! how silly of me right, and thats exactly how hotlink staff told me in good way, that it was my fault that i didnt change my plan, which is “PrePaid Top Plan” made for idiots like me who were loyal customers of hotlink and never bothered to look into their dubious planss… hate them so much
